Sharing Sea Glass Jewelry Tips With Sage

peachy pink pendant 7-2-14 There is no question about it! My step-grand-daughter Sage has caught the sea glass jewelry making bug!! We had so much fun together yesterday when she was visiting. At her previous home, we would often walk down her street to a great beach that was known only to the local residents. What made it great for us was the fact that you could really find quite a bit of sea glass. We spent many happy hours searching for sea glass and other treasures. Her Mom also loves searching for sea glass and has quite a collection. Yesterday, Sage wanted me to create a necklace for her Mom (my step-daughter) using a piece of sea glass she had found on one of their searches. She loved looking at all of the beautiful sea glass colors displayed in my office. She had several questions about the origin of many pieces and she picked out a few favorites! Sage looked at sea glass jewelry designs I have made and quickly pointed to the one she wanted me to recreate. We worked together and she had lots of questions about the functions of each instrument used. When we were finished, she proudly presented the necklace to her Mom who, of course, loved it!! We couldn't let Sage go home without a necklace of her own, so we made one of her favorite sea glass pieces into one too! Later in the day she said " wouldn't it be great if we could make jewelry together all of the time?" SO CUTE!!!! Thanks Sage for a great day!!!
