I was recently skimming through Coastal Living Magazine (I love it, don't you?), and was reading about their most recent list of beach towns to visit.
I was pleased to see that Nantucket was listed as number one! Each beach town seemed to have at least one thing it was known for.
So, I wanted to see what Falmouth was rated for, of course! Falmouth wasn't listed this time in the magazine, so I checked Trip-Advisor. It rated The Shining Sea Bikeway as the #1 attraction and thing to do in Falmouth.
I have to say, as someone who lives in Falmouth, it truly is one of my favorite places, however, I'm usually walking on it with a friend (so we can talk ...)rather than biking on it.
If you're not familiar with Falmouth, The Shining Sea Bikeway (named after a line in Katherine Lee Bates' anthem, America the Beautiful, is an 11.5 bike trail. It runs from Woods Hole to North Falmouth.
The bike path travels through beautiful woodlands, salt marshes and you have views of Vineyard Sound nearing the Woods Hole end of it.
If you're visiting in the area this summer, I highly recommend that you check it out!
Maybe, I'll see you out there:)
